I was born a poor white child of humble working class origins. I coasted through 12 years in the public school system before beginning my education. At 19 I ran away to join the circus (aka USAF). I endured 20 years then retired from active duty. My retirement was more or less for the mutual benefit of both parties. I almost obtained a BS in Computer Science at Wright State University but settled for an Associates in Network Engineering from Miami Jacobs College. Neither pursuit has resulted in any financial gain. Since my "retirement" I've been working with computers, which is a love-hate relationship since I'm really a Luddite in geek's clothing. I'm also an Internet-ordained minister with no church, no congregation, and an ad hoc belief system. (Actually, it's a loosely connected set of theological ideas.)
In 2002, I began my search for my roots, a never ending journey that has taken me much further than I ever expected. Finally, my Air Force training is paying off as I put together the clues left behind my ancestors. As I fit each piece into the puzzle, I find that more pieces are missing and the search continues. The joy of discovery is indescribable.
I'm happy to be a grandfather and I'm looking forward to great-grandchildren; I have so much to teach them and to pass on to them.
